In 2017, the Charter Hall Group (property developers of Raine Square) announced their partnership with the Raine Medical Research Foundation as their charity of choice, undertaking a corporate commitment to help support the Foundation’s future funding of medical research.
The Charter Hall Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar Award is intended to facilitate the visit of a high-achieving international postdoctoral research scientist, who is in the early stages of their career, to an academic research institution in Western Australia. The purpose of the Award is to bring new knowledge and/or techniques in medical research, facilitate the training of staff and students, initiate and undertake collaborative research, and advance medical research.
The value of the Award shall consist of a return economy airfare plus a daily allowance. The Award shall be funded on a shared basis with the host institution; Charter Hall shall contribute 70% of the total costs, and the researcher/host institution shall meet the balance of 30%.
The duration of the Award shall be for a minimum four-week period, with an unspecified maximum period, normally up to twelve weeks and the maximum contribution from Charter Hall for the Award shall be $10,000.
The Guidelines and Conditions governing the Award are subject to regular review by Charter Hall and the Raine Research Committee to ensure that they are relevant and clearly articulate the main principles for selection.
The Charter Hall Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar Award is open to all academic institutions in Western Australia, with specific eligibility criteria outlined in the Conditions.
