The Cockell Research Collaboration Awards were established in 2015 to honour the late Edith Elaine Cockell who bequeathed a sum of money to The University of Western Australia for the purpose of facilitating research into the cause and treatment of mental illness.
The Awards encourage medical researchers in Western Australia, from early-career, mid-career to senior scientist, to develop national and international research collaborations that investigate the cause and treatment of mental illness. The Awards aim to facilitate cross-institutional ties with academic institutions or organisations that lead to long-term alliances and advanced clinical knowledge into the cause and treatment of mental illness.
A maximum of $30,000 shall be available for each Award.
The Guidelines and Conditions governing the Awards are subject to regular review by the Research Committee to ensure that they are relevant and clearly articulate the main principles for selection.
Applicants should refer to the eligibility and career-level guide and the Cockell Research Collaboration Award Guidelines and Conditions to ensure they meet eligibility requirements before commencing this application.
Applications for 2019 Cockell Research Collaboration Awards are now closed. The 2020 round will be advertised in August 2019.
