Raine Research Prize

The Raine Research Prize is awarded for the best scientific paper arising from research undertaken by an early-career medical research scientist in Western Australia.

The Prize consists of a travel allowance up to the value of $5,000 and a medallion.

Rigby Research Prize

Thanks to a generous donation from the Rigby family, this year there will be an additional Prize entitled the Rigby Research Prize, providing a travel allowance of $5,000. A separate application is not required. All applicants for the Raine Research Prize and the Strachan Memorial Prize will be considered for this Prize.


The Conditions and procedures governing the Prize are subject to regular review by the Research Committee to ensure that they are relevant and clearly articulate the main principles for selection.

Applicants should refer to the eligibility and career-level guide and the Raine Research Prize Conditions to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements before commencing this application.


Applications for the 2018 Raine Research Prize are now closed. Applications for the 2019 round will open in August 2018.
