UWA-Raine Zebrafish Practical Course: Introduction to genetic manipulation of zebrafish: 21-25 November

October 25, 2016

When: 21-25 November 2016 (9 am – 2 pm)

Where: Biomedical Research Facility, 1 Underwood Ave Shenton Park

The new zebrafish facility located at the Biomedical Research Facility in Shenton Park is now operational and ready for use by Western Australian researchers. In order to facilitate uptake of this powerful model organism and facility, a practical workshop will be run by visiting world-leading zebrafish experts in November. This workshop will provide hands on experience with a variety of highly applicable techniques, including:

  • Generation of transgenic embryos
  • Knock-out assays using CRISPR/Cas9 techniques
  • Visualization of gene expression by in situ hybridization
  • Round table to discuss other experimental approaches

If you would like to attend this course, please RSVP to José Luis Gómez Skarmeta (jlgomska@gmail.com) by November 1 to confirm your attendance. For more information, please contact José Luis Gómez Skarmeta (jlgomska@gmail.com) or Simone Chapple (simone.chapple@uwa.edu.au).
